High winds force early closure of the University Library

Unfortunately the University Library had to close earlier than usual yesterday evening (Sunday). High winds had dislodged some external scaffolding and consequently safe emergency exit routes from the library were compromised. The University Library opened this morning as usual at 8am.

Extended opening hours for exam period

From Wednesday 11 to Friday 27 January inclusive the University Library will remain open until 02.00. After 22.00 entry to the Library will strictly be by a valid user ID card only. Details are provided at the top of the page at http://bit.ly/upPN8U

Special Libraries and Archives summer opening update

Notice of closed days at Special Libraries and Archives during May, June and July 2011

To allow us to undertake essential work prior to our move to the New Library, the Reading Room at Special Libraries & Archives will be closing every second Monday from 23rd May until 4 July;

REMINDER: Libraries open as usual

University of Aberdeen libraries will be open as normal on Friday 29 April and Monday 2 May. So, if you’ve set the recorder for the wedding ceremony on Friday (don’t miss the choral composition Ubi Caritas by the University’s Dr Paul Mealor – it will be performed after the exchange of vows) come along to the library and get on with some studying. First time! Longer opening for QML during January exam period

The Queen Mother Library will be offering extended opening hours during the January examination period and will remain open until 02.00 on the following dates:

Monday 10 Jan – Thursday 13 Jan
Sunday 16 Jan – Thursday 20 Jan
Sunday 23 Jan – Thursday 27 Jan
